Jim Wade, chairman and chief executive of RW Armstrong, and Roland Salman, company president, call their quirky Union Station headquarters special. There are palm trees for decoration; Wade has a fireplace in his office; and Salman is fond of the grand piano in the lobby that he sometimes plays at employee parties or to entertain clients.
...
But much of RW Armstrong's growth now can be attributed to the company's expansion into the Middle East, Wade said.He credits that change in focus to Salman, who helped land the company's first Middle Eastern contract -- a multibillion-dollar project in Dubai -- several years ago.The company already has grown into its expanded space at Union Station, but Wade has no plans to move. After all, the Union Station offices are special, he said.Wade is especially proud of artwork in the company's lobby.
