    Brian Waddell

Brian "Beavis Christ" Waddell was born on September 24, 1970.He initially wanted to be a drummer but between his parents fearing the racket and witnessing Ace Frehley, Beav opted to start playing guitar. While most renowned for his work with the Devin Townsend Band, Brian Waddell has achieved much in the area of rocking the frig out with Bombscare and Evenlight, cinematography via the world-renowned Funktard, and NHL '06 on PS2 supremacy.Despite all this, Brian feels he has a long way to go before being a full-on Metal God, remarking that were he a tree he would never fear his own buzzsaw like riffing because "there [are those] that are just as good or better, so if I dont chop that tree I am sure someone else will come along and take that sucker down."

Brian Waddell (guitar), who also performs 2nd guitar duties with DTB, looked positively green.I believe he left after the first song to vomit, rejoined the band for a tune or two, then left permanently.
    ...
As you can see, guitarist Brian Waddell was looking positively green with illness; he didn't stick around very long after Truth.I believe he left the stage after the big Accelerated Evolution single 'Storm', forcing Dev to go it alone for the rest of this one.

"Devin is rehearsing twice a day, first with Byron, Jed, and Gene then another for the second project with drummer Scotty McCargar, who you may remember as a former SYL keyboardist, and guitarist Brian Waddell who Devin has been playing with since he was 15," a post on the Townsend's website said.

Recently, I just became involved in drumming for and the writing of the new Evenlight record (Bryan from DTB's sideband), the music is awesome and unique ! The drumming that I'm doing with this project is very technical at times and has groove all the way thru it ! This will be a very interesting album when it's done.
    ...
I look forward to playing this show for a couple reasons ... First, I'm playing with DTB in my hometown and secondly, I'll be playing drums for Evenlight, which is Brian Waddell's (DTB guitarist) side band on the same bill ! That's right, double duty !

After a six-month leave of absence, Townsend has finally returned with a new album (one that has been billed as his first true solo effort, with the entire album written, performed (vocals, guitars, bass, keyboards, samples and drums created using the 'Drumkit From Hell' program), mixed and produced solely by Townsend, apart from some guest character voices provided by former The Devin Townsend Band guitarist Brian Waddell and keyboardist Dave Young) in the conceptually based 'Ziltoid The Omniscient' (centred around the all-knowing fourth dimensional Ziltoid who travels to Earth in search of the ultimate cup of coffee).
