Since 1997 Horst Wackerbarth has been chairman of the Universal Couch Foundation, a foundation which supports global dialog through art and media project - print, TV and Internet.He works as a freelance photographer and lives in Duesseldorf and Paris.

Born in 1950 in Fritzlar, Horst Wackerbarth studied art-photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kassel, Germany.He works as a freelance photographer and lives in Duesseldorf and Paris.His work is somewhere at home between art, advertising and the media.

Horst Wackerbarth has worked for a number of well-known advertising agencies in Germany and the USA.He is a member of the Art Directors Club (ADC), the Association of Freelance Photodesigners (BFF) and the German Photographers' Association (DGPh), Horst Wackerbarth is the founder of the "Akademie für Bildsprache" (www.akademie-bildsprache.de), a forum for magazines, advertising trends and photography, which awards the annual "LeadAwards".

He is the initiator of the organization Copyright +Mediation, an arbitration office for copyright and other disputes in the area of art, media and advertising (in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva; www.copyright-mediation.org).

He works as a freelance photographer concentrating on fine arts, projects, portraits and fashion.
