    Independent Auditor Validates NCUA On Overhead TransferALEXANDRIA , Va. ( 10/25/01 ) -- A study conducted by the Big Five accounting firm of Deloite and Touche supports the NCUA approach on allocating the so-called overhead transfer rate , the rate by which NCUA transfers a portion of its operating expenses to the NCUSIF.After reviewing the agency's calculations and conferring with trade associations , Deloite and Touche found only minor errors in NCUA's calculation that 67% of its operating expenses were attributable to safety and soundness issues and thus could be transferred to the NCUSIF.But the auditor did not express an opinion on the proper transfer rate , only to say the method was valid.
