Gaye Vorkink
Gaye has had a 35-year teaching career and has extensive international travel experience, having grown up in Cuba, Brazil, and Mexico City and having served in the Peace Corps in Columbia.During a round-the-world trip in 2003-2004, Gaye and her husband Peter spent a month in southern Africa (Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa) and a week in Cape Town itself.

Gaye is an avid naturalist who is very interested in the environment.Throughout her extensive travels, she has had considerable first hand experience in East Africa and Southern Africa with the flora and fauna of the different parts of Africa, and is a passionate birder.Gaye is fluent in Spanish, and has a B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Denver.Gaye will co-teach the African Ecology and Zoology course with Charles Hendrickson in Session One.
