Dr. Vogt is an active member of the American, Texas and Harris County Veterinary Medical Associations, as well as the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), the International Veterinary Pain Management Association, and the Fort Bend Parents of Multiples organization.

She served on the Board of Directors for the HCVMA since 2002, and completed her term as President at the end of 2006.During her tenure on the board, she took charge of the monthly continuing education program.This involved arranging for the top speakers in their respective fields to present high quality continuing education to veterinarians in the Greater Houston area.It also involved securing industry sponsors to help offset the cost of these seminars.After Hurricanes Katrina and Rita hit the Gulf Coast, she turned one of the regular monthly meetings into a half-day seminar on disaster preparedness.Dr. Vogt joined the Companion Animal Committee of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association in 2007.This committee is assigned to examine issues regarding companion animal medicine

Dr. Vogt was certified as a Diplomate by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP), specializing in Canine/Feline Practice, in November 2003.She mastered a rigorous and demanding application process and certifying examination in order to obtain Diplomate status.

Dr. Vogt has also been actively working for the American Animal Hospital Association since 2005.AAHA is the organization that is the source of standards for companion animal hospitals in the United States.She acts as Veterinary Student Advocate on their behalf, representing Texas A&M University.This involves providing support to the student chapter, and giving presentations to the students on various topics.In that capacity, her favorite presentation is on Balancing Career and Family, a topic that is near and dear to her heart, and that she has presented to multiple vet student groups across the U.S.

Dr. Vogt is married to Todd Vogt, a chemical engineer (and an Aggie).

Dr. Amy Hoyumpa Vogt is a 1995 graduate of Texas A&M University, having completed a B.S. in Biomedical Science, a B.S. in Veterinary Science and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, all at Texas A&M.She did 13 months of advanced training at Hollywood Animal Hospital, a veterinary referral center in South Florida.She conducted veterinary microbiology research before training as a veterinarian.

Dr. Vogt was certified as a Diplomate by the American Board of Veterinary Paractitioners (ABVP), specializing in Canine/Feline Practice, in November 2003.She mastered a rigorous and demanding application process and certifying examination in order to obtain Diplomate status.To qualify to sit for the extensive, two-day examination, a veterinarian must complete either a residency program or six years of clinical veterinary practice.Case reports, professional education records and references must be submitted and pass review before permission to take the examination is granted.

Dr. Vogt is married toTodd Vogt, a chemical engineer (and Aggie).Their twins, Adam and Zoe, were born in February 2003.
