PEPIN, Wis. - Alvin Richard Vogt, 85, of Pepin died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2003, at Pepin Manor in Pepin.

He was born April 15, 1917, in the town of Nelson, Buffalo County, Wis., to Albert and Emma Preifert Vogt.He attended school in Nelson, then worked with his father on the home farm.

Alvin married Anga Thompson on Aug. 17, 1940.

Alvin was a member of Lyster Lutheran Church, where he played dart ball for many years.He's been a member of the Nelson Fire Department since 1945.For the past two years, he had been a resident of Pepin Manor in Pepin.

He is survived by a daughter, Gladys Ristow of Alma, Wis.; two grandsons, Brian Ristow of Alma and Bradley (Debra) Ristow of Ellsworth, Wis.; and four great-grandchildren, Alexander, Lucas, Abbigail and Zachary.

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Emma Preifert Vogt; wives, Anga Thompson Vogt and Faye Hetrick Vogt; and a son-in-law, Daniel Ristow.
