Most events scheduled for yesterday were canceled, including the fifth annual First Light celebration, which will likely be postponed until Saturday, said Leo Vizzari, owner of Visible Changes Salon and president of the Old Greenwich Merchants Association.

"It really hurts me because last year we had beautiful weather, everything was perfect," he said, adding he had to cancel attractions such as horse-drawn carriages, which were booked 10 months ago.
