Dean Johnson joined Goshen College to direct the Plowshares grant on campus in the fall of 2002.
He was previously interim administrative coordinator for Mennonite Urban Ministries in Denver, Colo.The first instructor to teach a peace studies course at Anderson University, he has also lectured in peace studies at Purdue University-Richmond.He also served as assistant pastor for a year at the Richmond Church of the Brethren.
After graduating from Manchester College, Johnson earned a master's degree in theology with an emphasis in peace studies from Bethany Theological Seminary, Richmond, Ind.He is currently a doctoral candidate enrolled in a religious and theological studies program at Iliff School of Theology and the University of Denver.
He is a member of the American Academy of Religion and a member of the board of the Peace and Justice Studies Association.
