Vince Visaya, chairman of the Baby Boomer Committee, laughs as another member shares a story about getting in trouble in high school.
...
"We're hoping folks will see people they haven't seen in awhile, share a few memories and maybe make a few," says event manager Vince Visaya of Bellevue, Wash.
The 55-year-old 1966 Wapato High School graduate, an engineer with the Federal Aviation Administration, organized reunions for his school in 1998, 2000 and 2002.The events kept getting bigger - "just kind of mushroomed" - each year.
So, he thought, why not invite everyone from all the Valley's schools from that era?
Visaya expects to see people pouring in from around the state, especially the Spokane and Seattle areas, and from as far away as South Dakota. He's hoping 400 to 500 boomers attend.

It came home to Visaya seven times. Then he went to war.Visaya served four years in the Air Force, including one year in Vietnam. He says he knew seven Wapato soldiers who didn't survive.
"Most of us were naive and scared of going to war and getting killed," he says."The excitement of the '60s was the draft and the music."
That music, of course, was rock 'n' roll.
Visaya and his friend, Bert Tabayoyon, started their own band in high school.

Sandifer was in seventh grade, getting ready to go to P.E.; Tabayoyon was in study hall; Visaya, preparing for a game of volleyball, also was in P.E.
