    Paul Violi is the author of eleven books of poetry, including "Fracas", "Breakers" and "Scramble and Glide", as well as a book of short prose, "Selected Accidents, Pointless Anecdotes".He has collaborated with Dale Devereux Barker on five art books and curated an exhibition of Kenneth Koch's cololaborations with artists.Violi is the recipient of the Zabel Award from The American Academy of Arts and Letters and The John Ciardi Lifetime Acheivement Award for Poetry.Ê He has also been awarded poetry grants from the Ingram Merrill Foundation, The Fund for Poetry, The Foundation for Contemporary Arts, and two poetry fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts.He teaches in the MFA graduate program at the New School University in New York as well as at New York University and Columbia University.

    He is the recipient of the 2001 Morton Dauwen Zabel Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.He has also received two National Endowment for the Arts poetry fellowships and grants from the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, The Ingram Merrill Foundation, The Fund for Poetry, and the New York Foundation for the Arts.
