"We wanted to have a fun event, and do something good at the same time," said CST president Jacques van Wersch.

"We ended with NT$1.85 million for the charity groups, which is probably a record for a foreign group in Taiwan.Plus, everyone enjoyed a great party," he said.

"Taipei 101 showed real leadership by supporting the climb.It's the first time this kind of thing has been done here, and it was a chance for Taiwan's international community to come together," he said.
