PORT RICHEY, FLA. - Louis M. Valoppi, 73, a son of the late Daniel and Helen E. Valoppi of Aliquippa, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006, in the Marliere Hospice Center, New Port Richey, Fla., after a long bout with cancer.

Born in 1933 in Aliquippa, Louis attended Hopewell Area High School, where he graduated as Valedictorian of the class of 1951.He received his degree in electrical engineering from Carnegie Tech after serving in the Army as a military policeman during the Korean Conflict.He retired as an electrical engineer from the Navy in Charleston, S.C.Louis loved sailing and ham radio.He was a member of the New Port Richey Ham Club.
