"We're excited, but if you look at the brackets, there's strong competition in each one," said Bishop Moore assistant coach Cori Valleau."Just to make it to the final four is an accomplishment."
Valleau should know. She played for Bishop Moore in the early 1990s, and helped the Hornets advance to the championship game in 1991.Despite the fact that the Hornets have won state titles or were state runners-up numerous times since then, they've never won this tournament.Bishop Moore is 6-2 this year with victories over Lake Brantley and Seabreeze, and losses to Lake Mary and Lake Brantley. All will be competing in the tourney.
Bishop Moore's win over Lake Brantley came last Saturday. As a reward, the Hornets meet the Patriots again at 5 p.m. today at Lake Brantley in one of the day's most anticipated matches.

"If you lose the first game and win the second, the best you can get is fifth place," Valleau said."The bottom line is that you can't lose."
While the teams and the level of competition remain a constant, the same can't be said of the event's name.Burger King was an original sponsor and Target had taken over in recent years. When Target pulled its support, soccer legend Akers decided to step in as the main tournament sponsor.
