Our guide for this armchair excursion will be Frank Valle-Riestra.
The program will highlight the unique natural environment of the "land down under". From the tropical forests in the north, to Ayers Rock and the parched deserts of the interior, Frank has explored the innermost recesses of this fascinating land.
Frank will describe Australia's backcountry trail system and provide insights on the country's aboriginal culture. He'll also talk about his humorous encounter with dangerous crocodiles in the rain forest.
Frank Valle-Riestra is a retired chemical engineer and lecturer at the University of California. Frank and his wife Edith have traveled extensively throughout the world. He is a founding member of the Mount Diablo Interpretive Association and has made frequent presentations to the Sierra Club and other environmental groups. -
