Allan Valks

Allan Valks is currently a Chartered Accountant, working as a Director in the projects team at BDO Stoy Hayward.Prior to joining the Trust, he was a Non-Executive Director of the North East Leeds PCT from its inception in April 2002 until October 2006.

Allan has experience of working with the Department of Health NHS Foundation Trust Implementation Branch, Monitor and existing NHS Foundation Trusts as well as extensive experience in the commercial sector.He is looking forward to using his commercial knowledge and experience to help the Trust as it moves towards Foundation Trust status.

Allan said of his appointment; "I hope that my experience will be of benefit to the Trust as it moves towards foundation trust status.NHS Trusts face many new challenges in the future and Leeds Mental Health Trust is in a good position to establish itself as the leading provider of Mental Health and Learning Disability services to the people of Leeds over the coming years.I am looking forward to the challenge!"

Both Niccola and Allan have been appointed for the period from 1st December 2006 to 30th November 2010.

Allan is a Chartered Accountant and a Principal Consultant working for a national company in their Leeds office.His work has involved a wide range of projects within the NHS and Local Government.He is currently leading his company's Health Consulting Team.
