   It has been said many times about Sean Valentine.Growing up in a small New England town with his two older sisters, Sean watched and learned from the work ethic of his parents, both Irish immigrants.In his early teens, Sean found himself joining his father on the job as an electrician on the weekends, and working odd jobs himself during the week.He was never far from his parent's watchful eye as his mother worked in his school cafeteria.It was here in the school cafeteria that Sean would "hold court."His comedy routines would land him in trouble on numerous occasions with his mother, but in turn would delight his twelve-year-old audience.
   
   It was in high school that Sean found his largest audience yet.Interning at local radio station WICH-AM, Sean realized there was a captive audience just waiting for his special brand of humor.When the powers that be intervened, he found himself on the air on a Saturday night.The audience was listening, though if you heard a tape of the show, Sean would claim "I have no idea why they listened."He was fifteen and on the radio.Sean would continue to hone his broadcast skills at several radio stations in this little coastal town, all the while hoping for a chance to talk to even more people."I didn't care if they played Country or Polka, I kept telling my Mom I had something to say.She kept telling me to cut the lawn."Upon graduating high school Sean attended the University of Connecticut and then on to Mohegan College.It was here that he increased his commitment to the theater and began to seriously delve into Shakespeare and the Greek tragedies."I think my radio audience thought I was a bit off, every time I had apart in a play I would practice on the air.Its amazing the pointers you can get on the character Puck from a New England fisherman." The next phase in Sean's life is the one that always seems to gather the interest of his listeners.Sean would put his bachelor's degree on hold to continue radio, but he would also work as a police officer when not on the air."I have no idea to this day why they let me carry a gun" he says."I think it was simply because I was Irish and no one wanted to work weekends."After two years as a radio personality and a police officer, Sean got the big break and landed a job at the legendary Boston radio station WZOU.He would work at WZOU for two and half years while playing the comedy circuit around town.Then it was off to Dallas radio station KHKS.The first ratings period there he was #1, which would continue his entire tenure.While in Dallas for three years Sean also studied theater at Southern Methodist University.Now it was time for Los Angeles.Sean began at 102.7 KIIS-FM in August of 96 as the evening DJ.He was promoted to afternoon's seven years ago, which he quickly took to #1 in the ratings for the first time in the history of KIIS-FM.
   
   Valentine is the most listened to radio personality in Los Angeles.That was not enough for a man that wants to talk to all of America.Six years ago Sean started a syndicated broadcast of a second show called "Valentine in the Morning."He can currently be heard all across the country in places like Cleveland, Cincinnati, Des Moines and many more.His unique brand of comedy that started in a cafeteria lunchroom when he was twelve now has a slightly larger audience.Valentine is a regular comic at "The World Famous Laugh Factory" on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, and is a dedicated USO Entertainer for more than six years: traveling to Bosnia, Bahrain, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Turkey and the Persian Gulf.
