CARSON CITY, Nev., March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Erika Valente, who manages the annual Nevada Governor's Conference on Tourism, has earned the industry's premier certification as a meeting professional, Executive Director Bruce Bommarito of the Nevada Commission on Tourism (NCOT) announced today.

Prior to joining NCOT in August 2001, Valente was sales manager for the Hyatt Regency Kauai Resort & Spa in Hawaii, where she was responsible for booking convention groups in the corporate market.She attended industry- related events and developed relationships with key contacts for corporate groups with the potential to bring business to Kauai.
Prior to her service at the Hyatt, Valente served as Catering and Convention Services manager for the Sheraton Kauai Resort, where she assisted convention clients with food and beverage, audio-visual, master accounts, rooming lists, transportation and other needs.
Earlier, Valente was Leisure Sales and Convention Services manager at Caesars Tahoe hotel-casino, where she was responsible for controlling wholesale room blocks, contracts and client relations.She also was responsible for assisting convention clients with other conference needs such as audio-visual, master accounts, rooming lists and transportation.
Before entering the meeting industry, Valente attended the University of Hawaii.She is a native of Lihue, Hawaii, and lives in Carson City with her husband and four children.
