David Urquhart has over 35 years of engineering, operations, management and executive experience in all aspects of the oil and gas industry - in North America, the Orient, Russia, North Africa and the Middle East.This includes oil and gas related production operations, drilling and completion operations, exploration and exploitation operations, plant and facility design and construction, process equipment fabrication, product marketing, project economics and operating budgets, acquisition and divestiture scenario development, project management.

David began his career as a highway construction surveyor.Upon graduation, he joined the Sun Oil Company, where he was exposed to all facets of oil and gas drilling development operations - conventional western sedimentary basin drilling, completion and production operations; heavy oil, drilling, completion and fireflood operations in northern Alberta; high Arctic drilling operations; offshore Gulf Coast drilling and completion operations; California thermal drilling operations; high pressure drilling and completion operations in Louisiana; the development and testing of an air-cushioned, drilling rig prototype unit for use on the ice in the Canadian Arctic.Some ten years later, David moved into executive positions with several progressive, privately owned, operating companies in Canada and the USA; Hexagon Gas, Dynamar Energy, Petroleum Technologies.Responsibilities included the drilling, completion and tie-in of over 300 shallow gas wells in southeastern Alberta, another 100 shallow oil wells in eastern Kansas and over 100 conventional oil and gas wells in Alberta, Oklahoma, Texas and Mississippi.

In the mid 80's, he returned to Canada to become a the energy partner in Finex Capital, an aggressive merchant banking operation specializing in corporate bridge financing arrangements, construction lease financing transactions and acquisitions for a self-owned company resource portfolio that included production entities, service entities and a commodity marketing entity

For the past fifteen years, David has been working through Westhampton Ltd. in providing a number of diverse services to oil and gas companies in the global marketplace.This has included engineering and operational assistance to oil companies in Canada, Russia, China, the USA, Syria, Iraq and Algeria as well as marketing support to several North American oil and gas equipment manufacturers in Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, China, Iraq, Iran, Algeria and Libya.During this timeframe, he also served as Director General for two years in a new joint venture, high pressure, vessel fabrication facility in Western Algeria owned by Kvaerner Process and Sonatrach.

David recently joined KC Wellsite as a principal and is responsible for expanding the company's role in providing its clients with more extensive engineering and project management capability and support.
