Silver Spring, MD - Lillian Runnerstrom, CNM, Jean Downie, CNM and Pat Urbanus, CNM were awarded the 2007 Dorothea M. Lang Pioneer Award from the American College of Nurse-Midwives Foundation, Inc. during the American College of Nurse-Midwives 52nd Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois, on May 26, 2007.

Patricia Urbanus, CNM, MSN, FACNM graduated from Columbia University's Nurse-Midwifery Program in 1969.Urbanus worked in New York's MIC project where she became an expert clinician.She later joined Runnerstrom and Downie in Chicago, where she became the second CNM faculty and the first clinical faculty at the University of Illinois.Urbanus has served ACNM in a number of ways; as chair of the Bylaws Committee, as Region IV Representative, and in several roles on the Division of Accreditation.Pat has also served as a trustee of the A.C.N.M. Foundation, and as Foundation President.Continuing her steadfast commitment to the ACNM, Urbanus came out of retirement in 2007 to work as the co-chair of the 52nd Annual Meeting of the ACNM!
