Mrs. Maureen Udeka, wife of Mr John Udeka, the late Managing Director of ACB International Bank Plc, never for once thought that death could be lurking in the corner for her husband, as he prepared to leave his Lekki Phase 1, residence to the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos, where he hoped to catch the 8.45pm flight to Abuja. As usual, she was said to have carefully selected some of the clothes which he was to travel with on that fateful day. 'Hurry up or else you will be late" she was said to have told her husband as he finally adjusted his clothe in front of a king size mirror which stands inside his bedroom.As the wife of a renowned banker, she was said to be used to her husband's frequent business trips, both within and outside the country where he had often gone to represent his organisation.

The high point of the whole tragedy, according to one of the sympathizers who claimed to have gone to the Airport along with Maureen, was when the names of those on board the aircraft was read out by management of Bellview Airline.Locating the Lekki home of the late banker was never too easy as it took the reporter about two hours before he could locate the house which was the last building on Ishola Taiwo Street.

He had worked in Equitorial Trust Bank and Devcom Bank before joining ACB.
