    Dr. Jenny J. Tsai, assistant professor of psychiatry, attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she also worked as a research assistant in the UC Berkeley Learning and Memory Laboratory.Upon graduation, she joined the Peace Corps and spent two years in the Fiji Islands teaching biology and basic science to rural secondary school students.Prior to attending medical school at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, she was employed as a childcare worker in a shelter for run-away girls.She trained as a resident in general psychiatry at the Mayo Clinic, Topeka, Kansas, and completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at OHSU.

    Dr. Tsai joined the OHSU psychiatry faculty in 2003.She treats children and teens in the Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic, autistic and developmentally delayed children at the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center Clinic, and refugee children who have been traumatized by war and immigration experiences at the OHSU Intercultural Psychiatric Program.

    The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) is pleased to announce Jenny Tsai, M.D. is the recipient of the 2004 AACAP Pilot Research Award for Attention Disorders for Junior Faculty and Child Psychiatry Fellows.

    Supported by AACAP's Elaine Schlosser Lewis Fund, the award provides pilot research funding to a junior researcher to support the continued research, education and support of children, adolescents and families affected by attention disorders, such as Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

    Dr. Tsai is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Oregon Health & Science University and her research project is entitled, "Correlation of ADHD Symptoms and Sleep in the Developmentally Delayed: A Prospective Case Controlled Study."She will present her research findings at AACAP's 2005 AACAP Annual Meeting in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
