Bart L. Troy graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., then went on to receive his medical degree from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York.He spent two years in the Framingham Heart Program Prior to a cardiology fellowship at the University of Alabama Medical Center in Birmingham.
Dr. Troy has been a clinical associate professor at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine since 1979.He has written numerous scientific articles with an emphasis on left ventricular measurements using Echocardiography.
Dr. Troy enjoys the human side of medicine, making every effort to put his patients at ease.His style is relaxed and homespun, focusing on patient-directed care.His goal is to help every patient manage his or her own recovery through knowledge, understanding, self motivation and responsibility.
Dr. Troy and his wife, Penny, have three children, Michele, Christine and David who reside near and far as Boston to Chicago to San Francisco.An annucal family reunion at Cape Cod is held every summer.Dr. Troy and Penny enjoy sailing, tennis, antiquing, and beach combing on Cape Cod.
