Quinnipiac law professor James Trowbridge said most lawyers do not waste their time on "loser" cases.

Some lawyers say advertising has allowed new lawyers without high-society connections to launch successful practices.More people can afford legal aid today, they say, because more attorneys are in the marketplace.

Also filed with the suit, though, is a request for a temporary injunction that would bind College Street to keep tenants' rents at the rate set by the Housing Authority, said James A. Trowbridge, professor and director of Quinnipiac's Law Clinic.

Both contend the tenants will likely lose the suit as does James A. Trowbridge, a University of Quinnipiac Law School professor who is representing the tenants along with members of Quinnipiac's Legal Clinic.

If the tenants won, the property could be conveyed back to the WHA, which could then ask the state to sell the property again."The state would probably grant permission for sale after a hearing," Trowbridge wrote in a letter dated Tuesday and sent to tenants who had asked that negotiations end.

Trowbridge recommended that relocation negotiations continue.
