Trosky began her career with The Citizens' Voice as a correspondent in 1978 and was a general assignment, police, health, education and features reporter before becoming an assistant features editor when the newspaper began its Sunday edition in 1993.
Trosky became assistant city editor in 1997. As a reporter, she has won an award for her education writing and as an editor, she was recognized for layout and design skills.
Trosky holds a master's degree in communication studies from Bloomsburg University and has taught at Luzerne County Community College, Bloomsburg University and is now teaching part time at Penn State Wilkes-Barre.
Trosky is a member of the Pennsylvania State Newspaper Editors and is serving her fourth year as the president of the Society of Professional Journalists, Keystone Pro Chapter.
