Principal A.D. Titus said 55 students walked out as school was starting, adding no teachers were involved.
"I don't believe there was one single teacher who wanted them to lose instructional time like that," Titus said."I like their message, I just wish they had done it in a constructive way."
About 30 minutes after the walkout, she offered students a choice -- to go to class or call their parents to come get them and be counted as truant.

I was one of the students who ended up going home that day because I didn't turn around and go back into class as soon as Ms. Titus gave us the unltimatum to go back to class or go home.If I would have turned back around and gone back in- walking out would have been pointless.I mainly became involved in this when one of my Club Advisers- Future Business Leaders of America- was told she may not have her job next year.FBLA just returned from state conference- 3 out of 6 of the state officers are our own Taylor students.Several FBLA memebers have the chance to compete in nationals in the summer. If we lose our advisor to the fact that she isn't signed under a school contract- more than likely most of these kids won't get to go .
