Mr. Timm advises and represents private and public entity employers in a broad range of employment law matters, including civil litigation in state and federal courts.He also provides general preventative advice to assist clients in avoiding litigation.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Prior to joining Littler in 2005, Mr. Timm served as an associate in the litigation and public entity departments of Kronick, Moskovitz, Tiedemann & Girard, where he litigated employment law and general civil cases on behalf of private and public sector clients.Mr. Timm served on the 5-member associate committee at Kronick Moskovitz and provided continuing legal education training to the firm,s paralegals on discovery.
Mr. Timm is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the McGeorge School of Law, where he works with law students on a variety of advocacy issues, including presenting oral argument and preparing written briefs to the court.Mr. Timm also volunteers his time to law students at McGeorge by presenting on career development issues, acting as a judge for the national moot court competition team, and participating in the Dining with McGeorge Program.
Mr. Timm currently serves as Vice President of Programs at the Sacramento County Barristers, Club, where he assists in providing continuing legal education seminars and social functions for young lawyers.Mr. Timm recently served as the moderator for an ethics and civility panel, which included a federal court Judge and Justice from the Third District Court of Appeal.He also organized the Barristers, annual Supreme Court Reception, and Summer Associates Reception.
Mr. Timm has served on the Board at the Sacramento County Bar Council, the governing body of the Sacramento County Bar Association, for the last four years.For two years, Mr. Timm has volunteered as a Dialogue Team Teacher for Operation Protect and Defend,A Dialogue on America.Operation Protect and Defend was created by a concerned group of lawyers, judges, and teachers in response to the alarming statistics that high school and college students lack a fundamental knowledge of the Constitution and American history.
Mr. Timm is a member of the California State Bar, the Sacramento County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.
EDUCATION
Mr. Timm received his B.A. in Management in 1994 from Sonoma State University, and his J.D. in 1998 from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific, Sacramento.While in law school, Mr. Timm competed on McGeorge School of Law,s national moot court team.In 1997, Judges Shubb, Levi, and Karlton of the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California, chose him as McGeorge,s ,Top Oral Advocate., During law school Mr. Timm received the American Jurisprudence Award for Appellate Advocacy, and was a member of the Traynor Honor Society and Moot Court Honors Board.
