Their minister, Gordon Timbers, and session have kept mission and stewardship "on the radar" for the congregation.Mission speakers are regularly a part of worship services, members have participated in our denomination's Stewards by Design program and study groups make use of resources produced by Stewardship, as well as Education for Mission and PWS&D.
In November 2005, Gordon participated in the PCC HIV/AIDS study trip to Malawi, hosted by the Malawian partner church.He witnessed firsthand the hardships of life, and heard personal stories of struggle and faith of the Malawian people.Upon his return, Gordon's moving stories and photos of his experiences inspired the congregation to ask, "What can we do?"
The urgent need for clean water was a recurring theme in all the stories Gordon brought back from Malawi.
