    Having been active in the global security sector for almost 20 years, Dr. Van Tilburg was recently appointed Director Strategic Services of InfoGard in San Luis Obispo. InfoGard is a privately held company that was founded in 1993 and established its credentials through the U.S. Government's Cryptographic Module Validation Program.     Dr. Van Tilburg started his career at KPN, one of the largest telecom operators in Europe, and was instrumental in securing its mobile phone system as the first in the world.

    Dr. Van Tilburg holds nine patents in the data security area and was one of the inventors of the Chipper electronic purse system for which he received the prestigious Diana Award in 1996. He earned his Ph.D. in cryptographic mathematics from the University of Eindhoven and his Masters Degrees in Business Telecommunications and Electrical Engineering from the University Technology Delft.
