    Osterville - Frederick P. Tighe , 84 , a 20-year Cape resident , died April 3 , 2000 , at Cape Cod Hospital Extended Care Community - Pavilion in Hyannis after a brief illness.

    He was the husband of Louise ( Gauthier ) Tighe.

    Born in Boston , Mr. Tighe graduated from Dorchester High School and Quincy Junior College.He was a resident of the Cape for 20 years.

    During World War II , he served on the Navy aircraft carrier Bellow Wood as an aerial photographer and was one of the first landing parties in Japan.

    He was a member of the Quincy Police Department for 32 years , retiring as captain of the Detective Bureau.

    Surviving besides his wife are a daughter , Joanne Marinilli of Stoughton ; two sons , Kenneth Tighe of Harwich and Joseph Tighe of Abington ; and nine grandchildren.

    Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Cape Cod , 923 Route 6A , Yarmouthport , MA 02675.
