With the strong support of UNUM General Counsel Kevin J. Tierney , attorneys from a variety of UNUM departments spent the day phoning more than 1 , 000 VLP attorneys. Over 500 were actually spoken with and each attorney also received a letter of appreciation.
A survey of these participating attorneys is proving particularly useful as the VLP undertakes its strategic planning process. While overall satisfaction with the VLP was high , a number of areas for improvement were identified. These include issues related to the efficiency of the Lawyer of the Day referral process , improved case information , and assisting clients in understanding the nature of the attorney-client relationship.
