   Tiemann Brings Occupational Medicine Experience to Mercy Hospital 06/07/2004 Alegent Health Mercy Hospital announced today that Dr. William Tiemann, a specialist in occupational medicine, will lead the hospital's occupational health services program. He will join Sue McCann, ARNP, an advanced registered nurse practitioner, in providing the latest medical expertise to businesses in the Council Bluffs community. Dr. Tiemann has spent the last seven years practicing dedicated occupational medicine in the metro area, most recently as medical director at Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital's Occupational Medicine Clinic.

   Dr. Tiemann said that Mercy's Occupational Health Clinic's objectives fit with his philosophy of care. "Providing proper care to the patient and returning the employee to work quickly and safely is best for both the employee and the employer," he said.
   
   Dr. Tiemann also noted that he was impressed with the strong relationship that the clinic has with Mercy's Emergency Department, radiology and laboratory departments.
   
   Dr. Tiemann has over 30 years of experience in family practice and occupational medicine. He earned his medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center before joining the United States Air Force as a flight surgeon in 1968. In 1973, Dr. Tiemann completed his residency in general preventive medicine at the University of Oklahoma where he also earned a master's degree in public health.
