Originally from West Yorkshire, Sally commenced her NHS career in 1994 as an Assistant Financial Controller in the North East of England, for South Tees Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.Sally has subsequently worked in a variety of roles including Assistant Director of Finance and Acting Director of Resources for the Mid Essex Community and Mental Health NHS Trust as well as Director of Finance for a first wave PCT.Prior to the NHS Sally trained in the private sector with Pannell Kerr Forster and subsequently worked as a district auditor, adding to her wealth of NHS experience.

"Our vision in ESSA Finance is to be the leading organisation providing effective, efficient and flexible finance support services to NHS organisations.We intend to achieve this by constantly listening to our customers and responding to their needs, in addition to using the latest finance technology.Ensuring that our staff are highly skilled and fully understand the business as well as the needs of our customers is vital and will enable us to deliver the best possible service," says Sally.

Sally finds being at the forefront of change particularly exciting, "Within the National NHS agenda, Shared Services is still a relatively new concept.This allows us to underpin change in every area of our service provision whilst providing an excellent opportunity to ensure that best practice is adopted throughout all of our practices and procedures.The challenge of a new venture and the freedom to implement change and see positive results is extremely satisfying".

When not leading the Finance team, Sally enjoys shopping, a good novel and cooking for friends.
