Voices, CT - SOUTHBURY - Many people in the Southbury area remember Aaron Thornton as a promising Pomperaug athlete who won the state decathlon championship in 1995.Aaron went on to success at UConn and moved to Los Angeles where he is a physical trainer and painter, producing beautiful artwork to match his athletic success.On April 3, Aaron endured a major motorcycle accident on a freeway in Los Angeles and underwent five hours of surgery to save his leg.He received many units of blood, underwent a second operation and is now recuperating in his apartment in Redondo Beach, Calif.Aaron is happy to be alive, but he is far from his family and friends in Southbury.Due to inadequate insurance coverage, he has enormous medical bills and faces further reconstructive surgery to walk again.Aaron would like to hear from his friends in the Southbury area.His friends and family have developed a website to provide updates on his condition and to raise money from donations and the sale of his paintings.Those seeking additional information may visit www.aaronthorntonfund.com , or e-mail Aaron at aaron@aaronthorntonfund.com .
