  I want to do a good job serving my patients..That simple statement sums up the philosophy of Dr. Thompson.He has been serving his patients well for years.In fact , he lives the adage you can't keep a good man down..
  
  Born and raised in Ohio and educated in Michigan , Dr. Thompson came west in 1954 to build his medical career and live his life in Reno.He was in private practice until the early '90s when he retired.Or thought he'd retire.
  
  I didn't like being retired.Not at all , he explains.So he returned to practice geriatric medicine at this clinic in 1994.The clinic , purchased by Washoe Health System in 1998 , finds Dr. Thompson seeing patients Wednesday afternoons and Thursdays and Fridays.

  Senior patients comfortable with one of their own will be pleased that Dr. Thompson is available to take care of them and happy that his retirement wasn't permanent.
