Sponsored by Myanmar Information Technology Company , the three-hour seminar – Management of Change : effective organisation in a transition economy – included a presentation from keynote speaker Dr Aung Tun Thet , plus an open discussion.Dr Aung Tun Thet is planning , monitoring and evaluation officer at UNICEF's East Asia and Pacific Regional Office in Bangkok.His address covered issues including change management , ethical management and emotional intelligence.Dr Aung Tun Thet told seminar participants that change was a constant process , and outlined a list of ‘dos and don'ts' important to the processes of development.

Dr Aung Tun Thet said individuals should not wait for change to be imposed on them , but should seek it proactively in the realm of their personal , social and national lives.Even if we can not change many things , we must make a difference to a particular one , Dr Aung Tun Thet said.The key speaker also talked about the importance of emotional intelligence.These days , EQ is usually ignored between everyone in work or in personal lives.That is wrong , IQ is no longer enough , Dr Aung Tun Thet said.People who are intellectually the brightest are often not the most successful..He urged the participants to develop a new cultural understanding of intelligence by thinking with their hearts , as well as their heads.
