   Our new labor attorney, John Tennant, has extensive experience negotiating contracts on behalf of San Jose and other local POAs. In 2007, we will be going to the voters on the November ballot with a proposed DROP program.

   After much research thatincluded numerous interviews and meetings, the Executive Board asked San Jose POA Attorney John Tennant to address the full Board of Directors. Mr. Tennant who has an impressive resume has been the full time staff attorney for the San Jose POA for nine years. If approved by the Board of Directors, Mr. Tennant will work for the POA on a part time basis. It is proposed that Mr. Tennant will work for the SFPOA on Mondays and Wednesdays and the SJPOA on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Fridays Mr. Tennant will most likely work from his home office in San Francisco or an office at the SFPOA. Mr. Tennant's main responsibility at the SFPOA will be to research and legally challenge certain practices and policies at the OCC and Police Commission. Mr. Tennant would also be the lead counsel for labor negotiations. Mr. Tennant has the full support of the SJPOA on this proposal and the SFPOA Board of Directors took the proposal into submission. The proposal will be voted upon at a future POA Board Meeting. President's Message President Delganes has received hundreds and continues to receive daily e-mails in regards to his recent press conference at the HOJ. President Delganes' press conference has received coverage throughout the United States.
