   Ivo Tennant in The Times describes Boycott's role with Test Match Special as proof that he has been reinstated back into the "highest media and cricketing echelons" and follows his employment by Channel 4 for England‘s victorious Ashes Series against Australia, an invitation by MCC to give its celebrated "Spirit of Cricket" lecture at Lord's last summer and, most important of all, a recovery from throat cancer.
   
   Boycott, the outspoken critic, was dropped by the BBC, Sky Sports, Channel 4 and The Sun after he was convicted of assaulting his former girlfriend Margaret Moore in 1998. Although Boycott undertook some work for BBC Radio Five Live in the summer, he has not summarised for Test Match Special since he was in Zimbabwe in 1996-97 and has never done so during the summer in England.
