Caroline Temple-Bird is a Bio-medical and Electrical Engineer.She has 20 years' consultancy and research experience in healthcare technology in developing countries working on major projects in Africa, Asia and Latin America, as well as emergency and reconstruction aid work during the Bosnian war.Her experience covers equipment appraisal and needs assessment, management systems and policy development, project design, procurement management, maintenance systems development, and training.She has worked as a consultant for a range of government and development agencies, such as DFID, FINNIDA, and WHO.She also lectured for 10 years in medical equipment management at St. Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College, University of London.She has developed guidelines on healthcare technology management issues, which are now widely used around the world.She is currently Manager of a project to prepare a series of practical healthcare technology management procedure guidelines.The project is funded under the DFID Knowledge and Research Programme on Disability and Healthcare Technology.
