Brief Bio of Mons Teig

Dr. Mons Teig served as Professor of Worship at Luther Seminary for nineteen years.One of the courses he taught was on the "occasional services" of the church.In the prior twelve years, Dr. Teig was Director for Worship and Preaching for the former American Lutheran Church.During this time he was involved in producing the Occasional Services book for the church.He also served as a pastor in congregations in Brooklyn, NY and Pacific Palisades, CA.

REV. DR. MONS TEIG - Theologian in Residence

Dr. Teig is professor of worship at Luther Seminary.Prior to serving at Luther, Dr. Teig was the director for parish worship and preaching in the American Lutheran Church (ALC) Division for Life and Mission in the Congregation (1974-86), pastor of Lutheran Church of the Palisades at Pacific Palisades, California (1966-74), and pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brooklyn, N.Y. (1961-66).Dr. Teig brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, particularly in the area of the theology and practice of worship.

In the months ahead, Pilgrim will be visioning and re-visioning our ministry to serve hungry minds and souls in our neighborhood.As this visioning process takes life among us, Dr. Teig will serve as a wonderful resource as we seek to be church - the body of Christ in the world.
