She also has extensive experience in promoting tourism in Hutchinson.Her credentials include the following: bachelor's of science in biology from Emporia State University; 14 years at Hutchinson National Bank and Trust; three years as horticulture assistant with Kansas State Extension Office in Reno County; 23 years small business owner; member Reno County Growth Coalition-Tourism Task Force; 11 years member of board for Hutchinson Friends of the Zoo, including six years as president; Citizen of the Year-Hutchinson Civitans Club 2002; Altrusa International of Hutchinson-Community leadership award 2003; and distinguished volunteer-Kansas Recreation and Park Association 2005.
