Residents of Tallgrass Creek, 13800 Metcalf Ave., won't be affected by the bankruptcy or sale, Erickson Retirement spokesman Mel Tansill said.

Tansill said the reorganization would include separation of the two sides of Erickson Retirement - a facility-management side, which has remained fiscally fit throughout the recession, and a debt-saddled real estate development side. He said the separation will enable better protection of existing and future residents from the volatility of the development business and will allow for resumption of building in developing communities as the economy improves.
