Current PCC student Tom Tanaka learned the basics of the Avid system in a six-week intensive college summer session.That hands-on experience helped him land an internship position at TV Guide (TVG) in Los Angeles , where his work includes using the Avid Media Composer Adrenaline system to output promos to tape.

"Learning the Avid system at PCC was a great investment for my future," says Tanaka."Because of my training, especially in batch capturing and file consolidating, I quickly understood the system here at TVG."On the first day of his internship Tanaka moved immediately to an assistant editing position, which he hopes to parlay into a full-time position upon graduation.
