7/17 Taft to speak to local DBSA

Dr. Philip Taft will be the guest speaker at the Tuesday meeting of the Navarro County Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance.His topic will be ,Integrating Spirituality and Psychotherapy., The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the downstairs parlor at St. John,s Episcopal Church, 101 N. 14th St., Corsicana.The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with a free literature table, refreshments and door prizes.
Taft is in private practice as a clinical psychologist in Corsicana.For five years he served as director of clinical services at the Corsicana Residential Treatment Center, where he supervised a team of psychologists who were responsible for provision of assessment and treatment of 198 emotionally disturbed adolescent youth.He was a training supervisor and coordinator for TYC,s resocialization and cognitive life skills programs.In addition, he chaired the special services committee, a board involving multiple disciplines that governed and reviewed all admissions and releases, directed services for youth with special needs and coordinated program services.
Taft, who earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from Baylor University in 1999, did research on the ,Assessment of Outcomes for a Juvenile Boot Camp Experience., While at Baylor University, he worked as a research assistant on a
