History: In 2002, Elementary students (grades 1-5) under the guidance of Pat Taft (Children's Ministries Director) took on a summer local mission project by "adopting" the school and helping prepare it for the new year.

Covenant Church has had a partner relationship with Highland since the summer of 2002 when Covenant's Children's Ministries Director, Pat Taft (the original matchmaker) arranged for the church's elementary children to spend their summer Sunday mornings helping Highland teachers get their classrooms ready for the opening of school in August.
