    Mike TaftGlenbrook, Nev. September 9, 2004—Former Equipment Leasing Association Vice Chairman Mike Taft has joined The Alta Group as an associate.Taft brings more than 30 years experience to Alta, an international consulting and training firm serving the equipment leasing industry.

    Taft built his career at MetLife Capital, where he was the senior manager in charge of credit and operations.During his 14 years with the company, he helped create a highly-valued diverse portfolio.He also developed and implemented MetLife's real estate product and managed the growth of the franchise finance group.

    A year after MetLife was acquired by GE Capital, Taft helped create Irwin Commercial Finance, a subsidiary of Irwin Financial Corporation, and later acquired Onset Capital in Canada and Irwin Franchise Capital in New York.

    Taft will join the Alta team primarily on projects related to management structure reviews, restructuring, credit and credit management, operations, workout problems, mergers and acquisitions and due diligence.
