But despite Ros-Lehtinen's pro-gay profile, numerous gay Democrats have been rallying for Taddeo.She is a member of advisory board for Say No 2, formerly known as Florida Red and Blue, the political action committee set up to defeat the marriage amendment.

There is strong perception that the large number of gay voters who live in the 18th District can be a determining factor.The 18th District includes parts of Miami Beach, downtown Miami, and Coral Gables, and stretches down to the Florida Keys where there are large numbers of gays who vote.

While Taddeo and Ros-Lehtinen may have similar views on most gay issues, some GLBT politicos point to strikes against Ros-Lehtinen.
