Mr. Swigart was a veteran of the United States Army, serving as an ammunition handler with the 7th Infantry Division, 17th Regiment, from 1953 to 1955 in Korea.
He retired after 22 years as a truck driver for the former R&H Trucking of Clarion.He had also driven for a number of other companies.
Mr. Swigart was a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Rimersburg.
He was a member of American Legion Post #66 of Clarion, F&AM #277 of Clarion, and was union steward for a number of years at Local #538.
He was married Dec. 31, 1955, to Clara Blair, who survives.
In addition to his mother, in Worthington, and wife, Mr. Swigart is survived by a son, Ted Swigart and his friend, Jamie Sherrard, of Herford, Ariz.; two daughters, Carol Carnahan and her husband, Douglas, of Shippenville, and Cindy Wolf and her husband, Rollie, of Ohio; four grandchildren, Shylo Bish and her friend, Alfred Neely, of Ohio, Kurtis Carnahan of Shippenville, Mason Wolf of Ohio, and Bobby Jo Swigart of Arizona; and one great-grandchild, Zachery Neely of Ohio.
