Call Beverly Swift at Village Hall at 845-429-0300 for more information.Making a donationHaverstraw will continue to raise funds for a 16-foot-tall electronic clock that it will erect in September as part of its 150th anniversary celebration.Additional funds will allow the village to install better lighting and landscaping, including higher-quality pavers.Individuals and families donating $250 or more will receive a replica clock; those donating $500 or more will also have their names inscribed on the larger clock; businesses donating $1,000 or more will receive a clock and have their names inscribed on the larger clock.Donations should be made out to 150th Anniversary Committee and mailed to the village of Haverstraw, 40 New Main St., Haverstraw, NY 10927.Put the word "clock" in the memo section.Call Beverly Swift at Village Hall at 845-429-0300 for more information.

Beverly Swift, who serves as Wassmer's assistant and is a member of the anniversary committee, said the village also had gotten enough money to have chimes installed in the clock - a feature Haverstraw was going to skip.
If enough donations come, the village will also landscape some routes into the village, Swift said.

The company has been making such clocks since 1842, when they were originally powered by gas, and it guarantees the clock will last 100 years, Swift has said.
Individuals, families and businesses can get their names inscribed on the clock and receive a replica clock, depending on the amount of their donation.The first person to make a donation, lifelong village resident Douglas Hamilton, 60, was awarded the first replica Saturday, Swift said.
