Bethel Swift is eagerly anticipating her graduation from Columbia College Chicago next spring with a bachelor's degree in magazine journalism.As former editor of the Daley Journal, a student publication of Richard J. Daley College, Bethel incorporated students' artwork and poetry into the newsletter.Her writing has appeared on Goldenskate.com and in the Columbia Chronicle.An avid figure skating fan, Bethel dreams of one day producing a figure skating magazine.In the meantime, she is a faithful subscriber to both Skating and International Figure Skating magazines.

Bethel would like to one day try her hand at fiction writing, but first wants to collect more interesting life experiences.Her efforts to accomplish this include among others: being born into a large multiracial family (ten siblings - but who's counting?), working as holiday help at Honey Baked Ham, serving two summers as a sports camp counselor in charge of thirty-five 10-and 11-year-olds, and spending a year picking hockey tape out of toilets with the official title of "skate guard" at an ice arena.
